Sneinton catering unit shut down after food found in very poor conditions

Health and safety officers say they prevented a potential food poisoning outbreak after shutting down a catering unit in Sneinton.

They were called out to Chaudrhy's Unit at Sneinton Market on November 9 to investigate the suspicious activities of a business.
The business was registered as a 'catering equipment' company.
Police found that food was being produced on a large scale in very poor conditions in the premises.
About 500 chicken drumsticks not being stored in chilled conditions were seized and destroyed and an emergency prohibition notice was issued, meaning the unit had to close.
The chicken was believed to have been destined for local mosques.
On Tuesday community protection staff presented evidence to Nottingham Magistrates' Court about the conditions found at Chaudhry's.
The court issued an order to ensure that the premises must remain closed until environmental health officers were satisfied that it was safe to reopen.
