Dear friends,
Today is the anniversary of the signing of Magna Carta,
the first of its kind and a beacon to every nation in the world.
So as
well as cheering on our team during the European Cup, we are also
celebrating our English identity, including our passionate belief in
freedom.
Magna Carta was described by (Lord Denning) as "the greatest
constitutional document of all times – the foundation of the freedom
of the individual against the arbitrary authority of the
despot".
Today our freedom is under threat from a new
despotism. It isn't just one tyrannical ruler who needs to
be brought under control. It is a whole system which enslaves our people
and which is concerned not with their interests but with vested
interest.
If you stood up against the tyrannical King you
faced a range of cruel punishments. You could be harmed in many different
crude ways. Today the punishments are somewhat more subtle. They threaten
your job or vilify you in the controlled media.
We stand in the same tradition
of defiance and adherence to freedom as those that sought to curb the power
of an out of touch King.
We want you to join
the struggle by getting out on the streets with us. We have demonstrated
against the lack of Police action against the paedostanis and activists
like Clive Jefferson have been arrested for doing so. We will carry on
because we love freedom and we know the score.
If you can't be
there on the streets with us please send us whatever you can afford.
The torch of freedom must be kept burning. We must carry on the flame
passed to us by our ancestors.
Give whatever you can afford
today. Our freedom is worth the price.
Sincerely, |
