Broxtowe Borough Council to allow Chilwell Cemetary to do Muslim Burials

Burials at a Nottinghamshire cemetery will be able to take place within 24 hours of death from tomorrow.

The changes to Chilwell Cemetery will officially be announced at a meeting of Broxtowe Borough Council, following the extension of the Field Lane site.

The council was asked to make the changes by local groups for the Muslim community – as it is customary in Islam to be buried within 24 hours of death. Graves will also face Mecca.

To achieve the changes it will require the use of pre-excavated graves using precast concrete vaults. A similar facility will be offered to the Jewish community should requests come forward.

Which country are we in? This is England not fucking Pakistan
