Nottingham meeting report

Nottingham branch held another productive meeting on Wednesday 11th July 2012.
Issues discussed included the recent local paedophile cases and the lack of reporting of such cases by the BBC and other NUJ controlled media outlets.
Concerns were also raised about certain activities taking place at the Sumac centre on Gladstone St. and the continuing mismanagement of Nottingham City Council.
The Selling off of Nottingham Forest FC to overseas owners was also a topic of discussion and it will be a shame to see them move to Kuwait .
Other matters discussed included yet another death stabbing in the city; pending Meadows redevelopment into even more yuppy apartments (once the current residents are moved to Clifton - a form of cleansing) and the urban sprawl threats to greenbelt land (1,000's of homes needed for immigrants and such like).
General administrative matters and future functions were planned and the meeting ended on a high note with a generous collection to help fund future projects.
Everyone is welcome at future Nottingham meetings as the members are always very welcoming.
Outside of meetings we are constantly on the street campaigning on local issues week after week and not just at election time unlike certain LIB/LAB/CON parties living in a fool’s paradise.

(Thanks to Brian for his report from this week's meeting.  Views expressed here may not necessarily be in line with the party's stance. )
