Four Notts men jailed for heroin offences

FOUR men from Notts have been sentenced to a total of 24 years for conspiring to supply heroin.

The men all appeared before Nottingham on Monday for sentencing.

Nathan Pinder of Rosedale Drive, Wollaton Vale, was sent to prison for seven-and-a-half years and Justin Anderson, 37, of Westwood Road, Sneinton, was sent to prison for six years for his role in the conspiracy, and received an additional eight months for an offence of cannabis production.

Jourdain Pinder, 22, of Allendale Avenue, Broxtowe, was jailed for five years, Nathan Pinder of Rosedale Drive, off Wollaton Vale, Wollaton, was sent to prison for seven-and-a-half years, Everton Melhado, 62, of Ash View, Radford, for three-and-a-half years, and their heroin dealers Saeed Ahmed, 30, of Eversley Street, Toxteth, Liverpool, was also sent to prison for seven-and-a-half years.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Mason, of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, said:

"These sentences have been the result of painstaking and methodical police work to

 disrupt the activity of two criminal networks in different parts of the country. 

"These individuals had conspired to source heroin from suppliers in Liverpool for

 sale on the streets of Nottingham in order to make substantial profits."

"It is well-known how devastating heroin can be not just for the users, but for families and entire communities.

"Thanks to excellent co-operation between the East Midlands Special Operations Unit and colleagues in the Merseyside and Staffordshire police forces we have, together, stopped this particular heroin supply network in its tracks.

"What's more, we have been able to present the evidence needed to compel the defendants to admit their crime for which they will now serve significant terms of imprisonment."
