Blacks 4.4 times more likely to be stopped by Notts Police

Black people are more than four times as likely to be stopped by police in Nottinghamshire than any other ethnic group.

The findings come from information released on police.uk, which looked at 40 police forces in the UK.

In 36 of the 40 forces in England and Wales, black people were more likely to be stopped and searched.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: "Stop and search powers are an important tool in the fight against crime.

"They are often used following a serious incident involving weapons or if we have intelligence to suggest something is likely to happen or are conducted when an officer has reasonable grounds to suspect that items that are unlawfully obtained or possessed are being carried by the person stopped.

"However, we know that using stop and search can cause concern. It is because of this that we want to continue engaging with people to explain why we use these powers and help them understand why it is sometimes necessary."

We all know that Blacks and other non British ethnic groups commit more crimes in proportion - who can blame the Police for doing this? Makes perfect sense to me.
